Philip was asked to go to the EHS game and I drew a bllank. I said yes but wanted him to have Courtney call me. It's an away game, the driving, are they coming straight home...man. Where to begin. I asked him later if his mom asks him all this when he goes out and he says no, he just says he's going out. Man, we must seem paranoid in America.

Still haven't heard from this Courtney, I really should talk to her mom( my older sister informed me!)

Later Philip and I had the 'consequences' chat. It's easier to talk to him than I thought. He's a good kid.

Pool Party at the Lowe's

Philip is across the street at a neighborhood young men and young women's pool party. We left him to go on his own( as we went to visit our new niece Eleanor) and When I went to check on him he was one of the guys. We have always thought our neighborhood was pretty great, but the way the kids have included him has been nice. I was approached by the head cheerleader offering to drive him to school. It's up to him but I imagine being driven by your 'Mom' will get old!

first day of school

philip has been here just over a week and started at East High School today.I drove him down and he did not say much. He says he excited which I don't doubt...he's probably ready to make some more friends. As I watched him walk in alone my heart twanged a little but if today is anything like registration, he will have no trouble. Some cheerleading "helpers" already had 'heard of him.' What's that all about?

Please note I am a biological parent of a 7 and 2 yr old so am getting an education myself on parenting a teenager and a cute one at that.

This is what he came here for, the experience of an american school, education etc.... And so it begins
